On October 28, 2021, Attorney Eric D. Correira spoke at an all day online seminar presented by the National Business Institute entitled “Trusts from A to Z.” The seminar provided an overview of the various types of trusts used to avoid probate, reduce or eliminate estate taxes, protect assets from creditors, and qualify for government benefits such as Medicaid. The speakers discussed revocable trusts, marital and credit-shelter trusts, more advanced tax trusts, asset protection trusts, irrevocable Medicaid trusts, and special needs trusts. In addition, the program included an ethics section.
