On March 19, 2019, Attorneys David J. Correira and Eric D. Correira joined with Attorney Al Gordon, to present a comprehensive asset protection planning seminar to members of the Massachusetts Bar Association. The seminar provided an overview of the planning issues and techniques available to (1) limit the application of the Massachusetts elective share, (2) protect assets in the context of divorce, (3) protect assets from creditors, and (4) protect assets in order to become eligible for government benefits, including Medicaid. In addition, the workshop included hypothetical planning scenarios, relevant caselaw, and sample trust provisions.
